The Ring Around Zion

There’s a ring around Zion you have to pass through

If you are a sinner it will turn against you

For your conscience will judge you in all that you do

And the ring around Zion will burn you in two

I went to Zion but I couldn’t stay

My sins were so heavy I ran away

I went to Zion with a heart full of pride

But the ring around Zion wouldn’t let me inside

I went to Zion with hate in my heart

The ring around Zion made me depart

I went to Zion with a prejudiced mind

But the people that lived there just wasn’t that kind

For your conscience will judge you in all that you do

And the ring around Zion will burn you in two

I gave my life to Jesus he took all my pride

And the ring around Zion let me inside

The most beautiful city that I ever saw

And the people that lived there lived the celestial law

Should we repent and to our God be true

Then the ring around Zion will embrace you

For the ring around Zion will embrace you
